Image the RoboRIO (SD, roboRIO 2.0)
The roboRIO 2.0 boots from a microSD card containing the NI Linux RT image for FRC. You will image this card on your computer, then boot the RIO from it.
1 Requirements
- FRC Game Tools
- balenaEtcher or Raspberry Pi Imager
- microSD card ≥ 8 GB (Class 10)
- RIO 2.0 hardware + SD card reader
2 Imaging Procedure
- Locate the correct
FRC_roboRIO2_YEAR_VERSION.img.zip. - Open balenaEtcher → Flash from file → select image.
- Select target → your microSD card.
- Click Flash and wait for validation.
- Insert the card fully into the RIO 2.0 (click to lock).
- Power on; wait for steady Status LED.
Ironclad Standard
Avoid hot‑swapping SD cards. Power off before removing or inserting.
