Software Setup (PhotonVision)

Install & Access​

  1. Flash PhotonVision for Orange Pi 5 to a microSD.
  2. Boot, connect Ethernet.
  3. Access the UI via hostname or http://10.58.47.11 (or .12+ for additional units).

Device Config​

  • Set Team Number to 5847.
  • Set Hostname (e.g., photon-tag, photon-pieces), and verify it’s unique across coprocessors.
  • Set static IPs following our scheme: 10.58.47.11, then .12, .13, ... as needed.

Cameras​

  • AprilTags (OV9281 mono):
    • Resolution: start at 1280×800 or 640×400 (balance speed vs accuracy)
    • Exposure: manual, low as possible without underexposure
    • Gain: low‑moderate; prefer illumination over high gain
    • Framerate: 60–120 fps (as hardware allows)
  • Game Pieces (OV9782 color):
    • Resolution: 640×480 or 800×600
    • Exposure: manual; prevent flicker/auto swings
    • White balance: lock under comp lighting if available
