AdvantageScope (Live + Review)

AdvantageScope (Team 6328) is our viewer for live telemetry and log review.

Live View (NT4)​

1) Launch AdvantageScope from the WPILib Tools menu. 2) Connect to the robot via team number/IP (NT4). 3) Add widgets/plots and select data sources (NetworkTables topics). 4) Save a layout for reuse.

Live view works great for verifying annotations without recording logs.

Log Review (.wpilog)​

1) Start recording on-robot via DataLogManager.start(). 2) After a match/run, download logs from the roboRIO or USB. 3) Open .wpilog files in AdvantageScope to replay, graph, and export CSVs.

Supported formats include WPILOG, DS logs, CTRE Hoot, and more.

Ironclad Conventions​

  • Record pose, velocities, setpoints, and command names.
  • Tag events with short strings like Auto/ScoreL2 for quick searching.
  • Keep sample rates reasonable (10–20 Hz typical; 50 Hz only for tight loops).
